I look back on the past and cannot see a thing
I can't squeeze any tighter on this fading memory
I'm at the point where I can no longer breath
And despite myself I fear I'll never be set free
How can I let go of the colors I've always known
And set free the thoughts trapped inside my head
Breathing life into the things I thought I knew
Before I got trapped in this place of the dead
Everyday is filled with shadows of what once was
And with glances into what just might have been
There's a paranoid feeling that death haunts me
With all of the sorrow that cannot be unseen

Songs of Solitude
It's a terrible thing
When angels fall in love
It's such a quiet suicide
Ignorance entangled in bliss
Death comes creeping in
Casualty of causality
And blood keeps falling
You can't challenge memories
Or dare to hold onto futures
That are vanishing before you
You have to hope
That you'll take a hold
Of something someday
And that you'll learn the words
To your life's secret song
Hymns sung only inside
Of your own hopes and failures
Arias of despair and
Dirges filled with joy
The roses will die
And people will be reborn
In thoughts and words
In dirt and oxygen
Dreaming for days
And falling at night
With a shotgun in your hand
And a black snake on your mind
When angels fall in love
It's such a quiet suicide
Ignorance entangled in bliss
Death comes creeping in
Casualty of causality
And blood keeps falling
You can't challenge memories
Or dare to hold onto futures
That are vanishing before you
You have to hope
That you'll take a hold
Of something someday
And that you'll learn the words
To your life's secret song
Hymns sung only inside
Of your own hopes and failures
Arias of despair and
Dirges filled with joy
The roses will die
And people will be reborn
In thoughts and words
In dirt and oxygen
Dreaming for days
And falling at night
With a shotgun in your hand
And a black snake on your mind
