There are things I can only faintly remember
And I'm pulling so hard on the memory
That I tear it into pieces
With the scraps at my feet
All I can do is fall to my knees
And try my best not to weep

From the Inside Out
She crossed the room
Her toes dragging the floor
Little clouds of dust eddied
As she stared at the door
Her eyes betrayed her smile
I though she hated me
And I'm bleeding from the inside out
Bleeding from the inside out
And I know
I'll have to find
My own way home
She climed the stairs
Her eyes gazing down
Floating up away from me
Not making any sound
Like her feet didn't touch
I thought she hated me
But it was coming from the inside out
Coming from the inside out
And I know
I'll have to find
My own way home
She is just a whisper
Hiding like a ghost in an echo
Of a memory I'm keeping close
Because inside I have to know
That there's still a bit of light
I know she loved me
And I'm healing from the inside out
Healing from the inside out
And I know
I'll have to find
My own way home
But this time
I know
The way back into the light
Back into my home
Her toes dragging the floor
Little clouds of dust eddied
As she stared at the door
Her eyes betrayed her smile
I though she hated me
And I'm bleeding from the inside out
Bleeding from the inside out
And I know
I'll have to find
My own way home
She climed the stairs
Her eyes gazing down
Floating up away from me
Not making any sound
Like her feet didn't touch
I thought she hated me
But it was coming from the inside out
Coming from the inside out
And I know
I'll have to find
My own way home
She is just a whisper
Hiding like a ghost in an echo
Of a memory I'm keeping close
Because inside I have to know
That there's still a bit of light
I know she loved me
And I'm healing from the inside out
Healing from the inside out
And I know
I'll have to find
My own way home
But this time
I know
The way back into the light
Back into my home
